He's not gunna kill the Phoenix, it's pivotal to his storyline. In retrospect maybe instead of the treasure chest, it should have been the esper crystal in the cave. And if I remember right, it was a molten lava type of underground cave... but you guys didn't remind me in time so it's really all on you.
In any case, I'm digging through old stuff that I never finished since it gives me more of a jumpstart than starting from scratch. No idea what I'll find next. It's like a little graveyard of .psd files.
